(Ministries offered to help members and the community in times of need) Celebrate Recovery - Group meets at church on Tuesday evenings beginning at 6:30 p.m. Food Pantry - Open 2nd and 4th Fridays; providing food baskets to Monroe County and surrounding areas. Operation Hope is part of the Community Outreach Ministry. It serves the families that cannot necessarily afford gifts for their children at Christmas time. Operation Hope gathers a list of children from the community then seeks sponsors to purchase gifts for these children. Sometimes the children need and ask for such things as blankets, coats, clothes, etc. We receive donated toys, blankets, socks, etc. from various places such as the Columbia and Waterloo Kiwanis, Monroe County Fraternal Order of Police, and other local businesses and individuals. All gifts and donated items are wrapped and distributed to the families before Christmas Day. If you would like to help a family in need or work on this ministry, please call the church office at 618-939-9089. Hands of Jesus is a ministry that began as "Helping Hands" at Hope after the flood of ’93. People who had lost everything needed furnishings and other household items, so individuals from Hope started gathering items from their homes, from friends, from family, and anywhere their search for the items needed, took them. Word spread quickly about this ministry, and the amazing result was that more and more people began contacting Hope for these items—people whose homes had burned, those that had lost their jobs, single moms and dads struggling financially to raise their children. Every time there was a need for something, God would bless and it would just appear. If you have household items to donate to Hands of Jesus or you are in need of household items for any reason, please call and leave a confidential message at 618-300-0051 and someone will return your call as soon as possible. House of Prayer - Prayer Warriors are ready to spring into action. Have a need? Send an email for immediate prayer response, contact the church office or come to the prayer room on Sunday mornings or Tuesday evening from 5:30-6:30 p.m. GriefShare Support Group - It hurts to lose someone. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you are feeling.
